Living a Venti Life…

Every 5 years or so I get the urge to pivot my life in a new direction. It seems I was born with perpetual restlessness. There were times I thought there must be something wrong with me…why can’t I sit still, carry on and be satisfied?

The thing is, I WAS satisfied. In every role, every project, every place I found joy and purpose, albeit for a limited amount of time and then I needed to move on. What I came to realize was there is nothing wrong with me. I am simply wired to cultivate a Venti Life.

What is a Venti Life? It is an expansive idea that there is never-ending learning, growth and experiences available to each of us if we open ourselves up to letting go of limiting beliefs about what makes for a good life. It is not connected to a title or a paycheck. Nor is it connected to others’ worldviews. A venti life says yes to one thing while recognizing that I am inevitably saying no to something else. It is aligning my behaviours and thinking with my values. It is both personal and collective as we do not exist in isolation.
